A lost toy
Count Lev Tolstoi is alive and well and living in BristolYesterday animator Geoff Dunbar and I went to Bristol to visit Aardman studios and had a lovely dinner with Peter Lord and the great Richard Williams, whose birthday is today (Many Happy Returns, Dick!). It was a great occasion with great food, great wine and terrific conversation. Everybody was in top form. We promised to repeat it again soon!

Pete Lord and I winked at each other in Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago. Geoff's pocket square is most impressive. We should all pay such attention to our appearances as we enter this aristocratic stage of life. You hang out with a fine crowd.

¡Qué lujo!
A Peter Lord lo conozco desde hace muchísimo. Vi su trabajo por primera vez en el programa de Caloi, «Caloi en su tinta». Me gusta mucho su «Adán».
En ese programa, Grillo, vi también «Seaside Woman». ¡Qué maravillosos dibujos en movimiento! Y la música también es una delicia.
Posdata: Yo hubiera pagado la cuenta con tal de estar presente en esa reunión. ¡Jajaja!

Por si no lo hubieses sabido, Dick es el autor de la animacion de "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" y Geoff Dunbar el autor de la magnifica "Ubu Roi" y tambien la de Rupert The Bear y las ranas con musica de Paul McCartney

Recordaba que el director era Robert Zemeckis. Pero nada recordaba (o sabía) de Dick.
Así que las secuencias de acción real las dirigió Robert Zemeckis y las secuencias animadas Richard Williams. ¡No debe haber sido nada fácil unir unas con otras!
Mi trabajo favorito de Williams son las secuencias animadas de "La Carga de la Brigada Ligera" de Tony Richardson.

Won't be able to ask Mr. Aardman for a signature because he doesn't exist, Jenea. Aardman is just the name of a company, but I wouldn't ask for it anyway.

Desde mi punto de vista son todos tipos que colaboraron a elevar el arte de la animación; y mantenerlo elevado. Sobre todo en una época donde las producciones norteamericanas se convertían en basura lentamente.
Lamentablemente aca en Argentina vimos my poco de sus trabajos.
Hace un tiempo leí el libro de Williams, y lo que mas me impacto fue la parte histórica mas que la técnica, todo el jugo que les saco a tipos como Art Babbit , Ken Harris y otros grosos.
Lo de los sapos de Dunbar es bellisimo. No vi nada mas que eso.
EL trabajo de Lord es maravilloso, explota al máximo todo lo que le permite la técnica que utiliza, condimentando con un exquisito sentido del humor.
Y lo de Grillo...usted sabra.
