The sax player reminds me Marshall Royal
(Basie´s alto lead) and I think that Popeye likes that sound.

Creo que el "saxista" es Bud Freeman. Poseedor de un gran sonido y gran caballerosidad. "The Eel" por el es una delicia auditiva.

Hi Oscar,

First off, let me tell you that I check your "Grillomation" blog every day - I find all these drawings so inspiring!

I believe I learned about your blog back when Amid posted some of these Popeye drawings on CartoonBrew - I immediately saved them to my desktop and printed them out. I searched through all your archives but I could never find any more Popeye images - so thanks so much for posting these! I love them all!

So how does one get on this e-mail list? I'd be happy to see more work that doesn't make it to the blog. I noticed that I have a couple Popeye's that Amid had posted that were not re-posted here (one with Betty Boop, one with the white sailor suit).

Sorry for the long post! Also, I hope you don't mind if I link to your site.

Thanks,
Marc
