In the mid eighties I proposed to a publisher to illustrate an updated version of "Pinocchio" using the original text of Carlo Collodi. It is a great and scary story of lost children. The publisher was enthusiastic but it coincided with the centenary of the first publication and there were hundreds of new editions all over the world, so we had to cancel our project.
I still have a "dummy" and many pictures completed. Here are two of them. I'll post some more at a later date.

Oscar - can you put the other pictures from this set. They have stuck in my mind since I saw them in Great Marlborough Street in '88.
