Apocalypto

I've just seen Mel Gibson's "Apocalypto" and I thought it was a magnificent film.
Here is an illustration I drew in 2005 for some stories by the Uruguayan Eduardo Galeano with a similar theme.

Acabo de ver "Apocalypto" de Mel Gibson que me parecio una pelicula extraordinaria.
Aqui va un dibujo que hice para "Caras y Caretas" en 2005 con un tema similar sobre un texto de Galeano.

I agree - very entertaining even with some extremely silly action sequences.

Hah! Your drawing is exactly the ending of the movie! I was disappointed with the digital photography but the scenes in the Mayan city are outstanding, like some alien planet. The sick & diseased population indicating the civilisation rotting from within. They were on the edge of collapse just as the Spanish arrived to finish them off!

The Daily Mail review denounced the film as 'torture porn'!

That seems to explain what readers of the Daily Mail feel reading it.

"Apocalypto" is a decente damn good adventure film.
